I'm really sorry....but all these comments about "it's really easy to use, if
you can open a .txt file you can
compile this.., etc. etc. etc." are just pissing me off. I've been searching
the web, downloaded xcode from
apple, downloaded SmartSVN, read these forums... and I'm still getting nowhere.
I've never heard of things
such as "Repositories" or whatever the other things were that SVN asked me
during first start up. I do not
know how I can download the source code from this page. I have found some
source codes, but I do not know
which one/s are the correct ones.
So please, all you gurus who have been doing coding and understand these
issues, please, help us noobs who
do not know what we are doing instead of writing hollow comments which are
getting us nowhere =).

Do you guys realize that Gone Fishing isn't supported anymore? Pocket Gnome now
has built-in fishing
capability that is very slick, recommend you check it out.

As others have said, you simply install xcode:
http://developer.apple.com/technology/xcode.html
You'll have to sign up as a developer but it's totally free.
Then download the source by opening up a terminal and putting in the command
"svn checkout http://gone-fishing.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/
gone-fishing-read-only"
make sure you're in a folder you actually want it to be put into.
Then open up xcode. You can use spotlight to open it if you don't know where
it installed to. It doesn't show up in the "Applications" folder for me, but
it is in Macintosh HD/Applications if you can't find it.
From there just open up xcode and select "open other" from the bottom of the
splash screen and go to the Gonefinish-read-only folder you just created with
the svn command.
You're looking for the file named Gonefishing.xcode
Open that up and select run/build from the menu. This will start up
Gonefishing. Quit Gonefishing and quit xcode.
Now in that same folder we opened up the .xcode file you'll have an application
file. You can run it directly from that file now.

I've been a Software Engineer for a long time, however I'm not too familiar
with the Xcode IDE, or the project structure. (I've spent the last several
years doing .NET Development.) Anyway, I've downloaded both the executable
(.app) from the Download link above, and the source code from another source,
although I can't remember where that was at the moment. Anyway, I've had no
success with either the executable, or the self-built source code. I did note
that there are currently 56 warnings with my current project, however it still
builds successfully. (Most warnings are for deprecated events/properties.)
The self-compiled version, as well as the pre-compiled version both sense the
bobber properly, but still do not loot the catch. I read elsewhere that
there's an updated/replacement library (.h file) which can resolve the problem.
Anyone know where I can get it? Can anyone confirm the appropriate download
location for the latest source code? Any help you can provide would be greatly
appreciated. (I'm using Lion on my new 27" iMac, so hopefully it is either
still supported, or will at least work with minor "tweaks".) Aloha from
Hawaii! :^) -Ted
