se never inserts tabs #5

It seems like se never inserts any tabs. Even when XTABS is off. C-x simply inserts the amount of spaces that you have set tabstop to be. Is this the desired behaviour? Because I wouldn't think it is.

I don't think this is the desired behaviour. It should be possible to open a file with tabs in it, insert some text with tabs in it, write the file, and have the tabs remain intact.
