Description

One thing that would be great to add to the docs is that they could have a custom .ico favicon. This Stack Overflow question gives a general rundown of how we could achieve this.

Contribution

Happy to send along a .ico or .png file for this and someone can implement! Note that this image should be stored in the source/_static directory in the docs directory.

Hi @andrewtavis, I would love to work on this

andrewtavis commented 6 months ago

Nice @mrbazzan! Thanks for your interest in helping out :) :) I'll send along a .ico file for this later on today and then you can take it from there?

mrbazzan commented 6 months ago

Sure, no problem. I'll be waiting for the .ico file then

Hey @andrewtavis, I want to contribute to your project, can we talk about that? Tell what to do.

Thanks for your interest, @spalominor! This issue is taken, but there should be some new good first issues being made soon. Keep an eye on the issues for new ones, and I'll try to remember to let you know when something comes that you could work on. You can also join us in the community Matrix chats, with the description of how to do that being in the readme 😊

Perfect @andrewtavis, I will see for new issues to contribute.

Hey @mrbazzan 👋 The favicon for this can be found here :) Not sure if it's the perfect resolution, but we can test it a bit later. Should be good enough to test for now 😊 Let me know if you have any questions on this!

mrbazzan commented 6 months ago

@andrewtavis If there are any other issues I can pick up after this one, please let me know.

Closed via #113 :) Thank you, @mrbazzan! Definitely would be happy to work with you on another issue :) Is there a language in the scribe_data/extract_transform/languages directory that you'd maybe want to do the queries for? Aside from the ones in the table in the readme, English and Japanese, it'd be great to go through and write queries to get all the nouns or verbs from a language. Would be happy to help with that if it's of interest. Just let me know what language you'd like to work on and I'll make the issues.

Aside from that, keep an eye out as there are doubtless more issues coming! Suggestions for how we can do all this better are also welcome 😊

Thank you, @mrbazzan! 👍🏿

Do I need to have domain knowledge in the language? if not, anyone of Arabic or Hausa.

@andrewtavis You could please go ahead and make issues for Arabic or Hausa

Could you point me to contents that would help me better understand this project? I went through this blog post, and that was quite helpful!

andrewtavis commented 6 months ago

Not in particular, @mrbazzan :) I'll make the issues now and ping you! And nice that you found the old GSoC blogpost! Past that you'd read it along to the author and the rest of the team and everyone was really happy 😊

@andrewtavis what do you mean?

andrewtavis commented 6 months ago

I told the other members of the team that you read the old GSoC blogpost and they were happy that you checked it out. Especially the author :)

mrbazzan commented 6 months ago

Oh...okay. Solid write-up!
