Setting up feedland.com

I just tried logging on feedland.com.

The message is wrong, it says we cut off new membership for the wrong reason.

So I logged on but was redirected to a8c.feedland.org.

I'd like to use feedland.com all the time.

Also @fmfernandes -- this was the domain name we were waiting for. We should go ahead with setting up data.feedland.com, following the pattern of data.feedland.org.

This is what I changed it to. Any edit suggestions totally welcome.

So I think we'll need to change:

• myDomain on config.js.
• s3PathForStorage.
• s3PathForLikes.
• s3PathForFeeds.
• Re-enable flEnableNewUsers.

To enable data.feedland.com we'll need to rename the bucket to data.feedland.com.

We may have issues with SMTP if we change sender to @feedland.com and keep sending from a8c servers (I'm really not sure about this one).

Did I miss something?

I can send you a copy of the config.json file for feedland.org if that will help.

Why not try it and then we'll look for problems.

Then we can start using the official real high-scaling FeedLand Supreme.

Also -- do not re-enable flEnableNewUsers. Reason -- we're still talking about re-doing the UI for signing up. i want to have a chance to think for a few days on this.

Let's leave the email address as-is -- I like the association with automattic.com. At least to start. Let's have Automattic's role up front and visible.

Interestingly, when visiting https://feedland.com/ and even though a message says We're not signing up new users yet. I'm still able to click on Sign up with FeedLand and register a new user.

@fmfernandes -- I tried to create a new account on feedland.com and wasn't able to. It shouldn't have allowed me to try to create a new account, but when I went through all the steps, in the end the server did the right thing. I will fix the UI issue.

We should put everything else aside until we have a solid version of FeedLand running on feedland.com.

I want to be sure that when we offer use of the system even to a small number of test users, there aren't any embarrassing errors or functionality that wasn't sufficiently tested. First impressions are impossible to replace, so let's focus on this. I'm speaking to myself mostly -- I always want to try out new ideas, but it takes discipline to get to 1.0 level quality.

Fix: Now the Sign up with FeedLand command doesn't appear in the menu if appConsts.flEnableNewUsers is false.
