Here's what a tabbed news reader looks like now.
It's important that you can easily see whose news you're looking at, as with the feed list.
Also, there's a new XML icon on this page that gets you the OPML subscription list for the active category in the tabs.
I like the way this new formation clearly invites me to claim & take responsibility for the contents of the tabs on my page.
More tweaks --
I've wanted to have a way to get to the news page for other users. This is what I've come up with.
In the Users sub-menu of the Tools menu, each username now takes you to the News page for the user. Formerly it took you to the Feed list page.
In the subtext for the title of the news page, the word "feeds" links back to the Feed list page for the user.
I figure the first think you want to see is the way they've designed their news page.
Screen shot.
When you click on tab, the URL in the address bar will change.
If you copy the URL and give it to someone else who is a member of the group, they will see what you see.
For example, here's a link to a tab in my news page.
http://feedland.org/?river=true&screenname=davewiner&catname=politics
From there you can see what my categories are. You can't (yet) get to the feeds, but this will help get us there.
Figuring this out was like hacking through a jungle with a machete. So look out for breakage in accessing your own tabs. Or if you don't have categories yet, your news should continue to work too.
