Satoshi's Palace

The Secret Network Casino and Sports Book.

Description

Satoshi's Palace will be the premier destination for all things in crypto gambling. We offer a wide array of online games, catering to a diverse range of preferences and styles. Central to our platform is the integration of the Secret Network's secure and verifiable Randomness API, ensuring fairness in every game of chance. This feature is vital for maintaining the integrity of our games and the trust of our players.

Furthermore, we leverage the Secret Network's unique Permissioned Viewing capabilities. This technology guarantees that opponents cannot gain unfair advantages during gameplay, preserving the competitive spirit and fairness of each game.

Our commitment to utilizing these advanced features from the Secret Network not only elevates the gaming experience for our users but also places us at the forefront of innovation in crypto gambling.

In addition to utilizing the exceptional features of Secret Network. We have also developed an oracle for our sports betting platform. This oracle serves as a reliable and secure source of real-time sports data, ensuring that results are always accurate and up-to-date. The integration of this oracle into our platform underscores our commitment to innovation and providing our users with a top-tier gambling experience. Our goal is to rival then beat competitors like DraftKings or FanDuel who generate 10's of BILLIONS per year in raw profit. We aim to do this with better odds, more possible bets, better user experience, and the unstoppability of web3.

Hi, I am just a community member giving my opinion on the above grant. First and foremost, thank you for the well-written request.

While I am not in control of any funds, it is fair to note that the grant size is quite large and would probably be on the higher end of grants paid out by SCRT Labs in previous grant programmes. However, I also think that the GambleFi space will be one that will be especially successful on-chain, and especially in a private-by-default chain.

That being said, I think there are clear places where we can try to re-jig funding allocations, and also potentially trim some items too. In no particular order:

Milestone Allocations: At present, 25.0% of the grant is attributed to achieving Testnet readiness, 62.5% of it is attributed to achieving Mainnet readiness with the remaining 12.5% rewarded for performance-based achievements. My initial sentiment feels that this is heavily skewed towards a very risk-averse approach that reduces the incentive to grow the platform. Theoretically, 87.5% of the grant could be earned by launching the products and doing nothing else.

My suggestion would be to trim Testnet and Mainnet milestones while increasing the performance-based milestones. This would likely be in the form of additional milestones at higher unique wallet interaction counts and TVL to express your commitment to Satoshi's Palace and align incentives in a way that pushes you to continue to grow the product.

Custom Oracle: I do not entirely understand the role of this custom oracle (referred to in Milestone 7) as the sportsbook is supposed to be on Mainnet before that (Milestone 3). It also makes me question how you will operate your sportsbook and how markets will be resolved.

In any event, I would suggest that this is reviewed and potentially even explore alternative solutions. A potential avenue could be leveraging Snakepath, a privacy-preserving message-passing protocol between Secret Network and EVM blockchains, with Chainlink's sports feeds. I understand that Thales uses Chainlink to obtain these feeds, and it may be that you may have to co-fund this with them, but it would be significantly cheaper in the short term while giving a lot more time to consider the necessity of your own custom oracle solution.

Conclusion: The products that aim to be created through this grant request are definitely attractive, but the cost and the phasing of cost remain a concern to me. I would also appreciate some more insight as to the need of a custom oracle solution and if any alternatives have already been considered to date.

Good luck!
