Auto switch mode DNS issues with 1.6.0 #90

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install 1.6.0
2. Be in a place where DNS only works through the proxy
3. Attempt to use auto-switch mode with the Default Rule to use the HTTP
proxy

What is the expected output?

DNS should go through the default proxy as in previous versions

What do you see instead?

Error 105 (net::ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED): The server could not be found.

If I manually switch to the right proxy it all works.

Switchy version: 1.6.0
Operating system: XPSP3

Error Log (Switchy Options > press 'Error Log' button):

I can confirm this behaviour, just need the DNS traffic to go through the
default proxy and
all will be good.

Did previous versions handle this case correctly?
And is this issue still not solved in 1.6.3?

It is still broken. If I change my default proxy from auto to manual, it works.

Oh, and it worked in whatever came before 1.6.0.

What is the status of this ticket? I can confirm that with version 1.6.3, it is
still an issue and the only way for DNS queries to be routed through my proxy,
is if I turn off the auto switch mode (and manually select my proxy).

This is broke for me as well. If autoswitch is enabled, DNS will not resolve
through remote proxy. This was working fine in previous versions.
