Hi,

I did setup a scylla cluster on Minikube and everything was working flawlessly the previous month.

Yesterday, I deleted and recreated my Minikube cluster and I know have some errors.

here are the pod of one of the scylla cluster member "simple-cluster-us-east-1-us-east-1a-0"

I followed and used the files in this guide: https://github.com/scylladb/scylla-operator/blob/master/docs/source/generic.md

The scylladb/scylla-operator image ID that worked was: 27f77774cff5 The one that is not working on my minikube setup at the moment is: 9e37df151bc0

I used the tag latest, I should not have thats on me.

minikube version: v1.23.2 Kubernetes version: v1.21.2

In the mean time, Im using the tag 1.5

Thanks for your help

what revision did you use to kubectl apply -f examples/common/operator.yaml ?

the RBAC seems to be there https://github.com/scylladb/scylla-operator/blob/83f5b9d/examples/common/operator.yaml#L265-L276

Pod validation will reject the pod if the concatenated name is not valid for a PVC (for example, too long). \n An existing PVC with that name that is not owned by the pod will *not* be used for the pod to avoid using an unrelated volume by mistake. Starting the pod is then blocked until the unrelated PVC is removed. When this field is specified, volume binding will only succeed if the type of the specified object matches some installed volume populator or dynamic provisioner. This field will replace the functionality of the DataSource field and as such if both fields are non-empty, they must have the same value. For backwards compatibility, both fields (DataSource and DataSourceRef) will be set to the same value automatically if one of them is empty and the other is non-empty. There are two important differences between DataSource and DataSourceRef: * While DataSource only allows two specific types of objects, DataSourceRef allows any non-core object, as well as PersistentVolumeClaim objects. * While DataSource ignores disallowed values (dropping them), DataSourceRef preserves all values, and generates an error if a disallowed value is specified. I dont see the new RBAC rules, so I used the last image but didnt update the operator.yaml file to include the new RBAC correct ?

Thanks

tnozicka commented 2 years ago

I think so. Each operator version is bound to the same level of manifests and both must be updated together. Did it work with matching level of manifests?

julienMichaud commented 2 years ago

working with the image 1.6 and the latest operator.yaml file thanks !

If I keep the image tag 1.6 with the current operator.yaml available, will a new change introduce to the image on dockerhub break my scylla cluster if I have to redownload the image with the tag 1.6 ?

Thanks

tnozicka commented 2 years ago

It's safer to reference a full version. (On the other hand, it isn't very likely we'd backport a manifest change, unless it was of high importance.)

tnozicka commented 2 years ago

manifest skew and resolved, closing
