Deprecate start and stop, replacing with start_samples and stop_samples.
Add start_seconds and stop_seconds, which have the advantage of being (1) independent of sample rate and (2) more human-readable (who knows off the top of their head how many seconds 432,000 samples at 48k is?! 😉)
