I forgot to include the BERT version, which is BERT2.4.4. Here (https://github.com/sdllc/Basic-Excel-R-Toolkit/issues/160) is the link to the other issue which might or might not be related.
In my experience upon running the BERT installer I did not need to otherwise register the addin.
Go to a console and test whether your %BERT_HOME% is set correctly by issuing the following two commands:
C:\Users\mec>echo %BERT_HOME%
C:\Users\mec\AppData\Local\BERT2
C:\Users\mec>ls %BERT_HOME%
BERT32.xll Uninstall.exe files
BERT64.xll Welcome.md lib
BERTRibbon2x64.dll bert-config-saved.json module
BERTRibbon2x86.dll bert-config-template.json startup
ControlJulia.exe bert-config.json user-stylesheet-template.less
ControlJulia07.exe bert-languages.json user-stylesheet.less
ControlR.exe bert2.ico
R-3.5.0 console
I'm guessing your going to want to back out of you installation method and try to get it to work with BERT_HOME
Installation info: Windows 10 63 bit R 3.5.0 MS Excel Version 1811 (Build 11029.20079 Microsoft Store)
Installation Note Note: When I installed BERT, it did not add to the add-ins list automatically, I added both the actual BERT32.xll file. The ribbon icon did not display until I ALSO added BERTRibbon2x86.xll as a COM add-in.
Issue Description: Whenever I open the "Add-ins" ribbon tab on excel, I get the following error. I can open the BERT console upon clicking "OK to all," but it happens again next time I restart. Restarting or reinstalling BERT did not help.
My console also does not work correctly, but I am creating a different issue since I am not certain if these two are related. I will link it here shortly.
This is the screenshot of the error message I get:
Thanks a lot for your help.
