I don't have a mac so I can't help much, but I'll leave this open incase anyone with a mac has any suggestions.
What I use these days is beets.io with the audible plugin, it installs on docker and should install on your mac just fine. I like beets because it will try to auto-match first so it's much easier and faster than mp3tag. When I've got some books waiting to be tagged I just run a script that exec's into the beets container and I mainly just confirm it's auto-match by hitting [A]ccept, occasionally if it cant automatch hit [I] and enter the ASIN. https://github.com/seanap/beets-audible
Clutch suggestion, @seanap. MP3TAG is like the one thing that stops this from being a sane process you can just run on linux
@uchagani as far as I'm aware mp3tag for Mac doesn't support custom web sources. Are you able to use the Mac version with my .src script?
My apologies, I didn't Verify that closely

Just chiming in here: Mp3tag for Mac does support custom web sources.
I've also developed a web source for Audible which should be compatible with @seanap's web source, but is based on the JSON API and quite fast in my experience.
Can I suggest - https://kid3.kde.org
MP3TAG is a paid application on Mac and it would be great to have an alternative.
