Unable to utilize 8-30 charcter passphrase #1053

Which device (manufacturer, type)? Motorola Droid X2

Which firmware is installed? Android 2.2.2

What version of wireless tether are you using? 3.1-beta2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Select wpa_supplement
2.
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Change passphrase does not allow me to change from 13 characters to 8-30 
characters

same thing happens with Android 2.3.3
