Forgot to tell you that I don't have 4G so I am testing only on 3G.

I'm assuming you are rooted with release of Revolutionary yesterday? I can run
Wireless tether, but it gives me a Wifi interface error in the logs. So you can
get farther than me. Wired tethering works no issues

I'm also receiving the issue with Wireless Tether failing to load the Wifi
interface on the Evo 3D rooted with Revolutionary.

I have a Revolutionary rooted 3d. Pre14 version of wifi tether works if you
turn routing fix on. Other devices can connect just fine, but often they can't
connect to the internet (for some reason google domain is still accessible when
this happens). When a connected device loses internet access, stopping wifi
tether, starting barnacle, letting it get all set up, then stopping barnacle,
then restarting wifi tether gets devices connected to the 3d internet access
again.

I have a rooted EVO 3D and wifi tether only gives me access to google sites.
So the advice give above. Start wifi tether...then stop. Start barnacle...then
stop after setup. Then restart wifi tether....all sites are able to load. Why
does barnacle fix the problem? Wifi tether is much faster, but barnacle is
less hassle. I'm so torn...

Also you have to keep barnacle program running in the background for wifi
tether maintain internet access to all sites.

Try to change the dns (in app-settings) like mentioned here:
http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/issues/detail?id=1047#c18
And let me know if that works for you.

Tried that, no luck, still fails on "Activating WiFi Interface" - Evo 3D

My EVO 3D WIFI tethering works only on 4G, not 3G. Dallas only has 50% 4G
coverage.

Confirmed that the barnacle methods works, looks like a packet size issue so
only google sites work without barnacle, see Orion's comments on the MTU size:

I was having the "only able to surf google sites" issue and fixed by installing
the wifi_tether_v3_1-pre105.apk version with the following settings:
*display set to never shut off
*device profile set to evo3d
*mss clamping ON
*routering fix ON
now it works just fine on 3g wifi tether. Thanks peeps.
