Also same problem: Moto Droid and MBP. I connect the phone to computer but when
I navigate web, phone is showing no up/download in status or 3G status. Have to
reboot phone twice to get it to work.

I have EVO 4G & had same problem. Open WiFi tethering App & hit menu on phone.
From there hit "About" Then tap the link for project home. From there tap
Downloads. Select wireless tether 2 0 5-pre7.apk to download & replace the
other tether app. It's the same app but different (its over my head at this
point but it works). Now you shld b ready to go & tether. For those of you with
something other than EVO if it doesnt work I wld try all of the different files
listed. Trial & error method. It really doesnt take that long so it'll be a bit
of a hassle but well worth it. If anyone has an HTC Desire let me know what you
find out. I'll be rooting my buddys Desire in a couple days so any input wld
help save some time.

@JPalmer629 - your suggestion of reinstalling with tether 2 0 5-pre7.apk worked
perfectly for my rooted Evo (unrevoked3) on Froyo (2.2). Much appreciated.

Similar problem here. I'm I am using Android 2.2 on Samsung Infuse w/ AT&T. I
have installed both versions listed for Samsung. It appears on the phone that
it is working properly but nothing can detect the Wifi it is supposed to be
sending. When I try the (Re)-Install binaries/configs from the settings menu,
it says "couldn't install file data/data/android.tether/bin/dnsmasq". Any
ideas?

I had the same problem with EVO 4G and tried the 2.0.5-pre7.apk but
unfortunately it did not work for me. Frustrating as it used to work at one
time. May try an older version?

I have just rooted my Sprint Galaxy S2 using superoneclick and then installed
wifi tether 3.1 beta11 without issue. Starts and runs normally. My problem is
that no computer, ipad, or android tablet even sees the phone as an option to
connect to. Also the download and upload screen shows 0.0kb while tethering.
Can anyone help?

I just rooted and added latest wireless tether. App starts and runs normally,
but nothing seems to be able to recognize the signal and the download and
upload shows no data being moved, so it really isn't working. I uninstalled
and installed a few times, tried version 9 and that one doesn't even load
properly. I've tried selecting specific phones instead of defaulting to
'auto', but no luck. I tried changing the ssid, doing with and without
encryption turned on....but no dice.

I also have the Epic 4G Touch. I am running the stock root for sprint EL29 and
the wifi tether does not transmit signal. My Xoom, ipad or hp laptop does not
find ssid or anything indicating the signal being transmitted. I do notice that
when wifi tether starts my wifi icon disappears... Please help

On the sprint galaxy s2 / epic 4g touch I was able to get the wifi tethering to
transmit, but not able to connect to any devices. They see it and indicate,
"Saved" but will not connect. Ideas?

Uninstalled re installed several times and it no goes off and on but I still
get no wifi when its on and tethered. Somebody please help asap!!!!

First gen RAZR up to date 4.1.2 and rooted. App was working great; just stopped
outputting signal and can't tether anymore.

For the people with Motorola Razr problems I have the razr maxx and had the
same problem. I fixed my issue by downloading a file manager app such as es
file explorer file manager and located the folder
data/data/com.googlecode.android.wifitether/bin and deleted the
com.googlecode.android.wifitether/ folder.

I then uninstalled the 3.3 beta 2 update restarted my phone and then installed
the 3.2 beta 1 version located in the download section of this website. It
works now however even though I have my security turned on it shows open
network. Not much of a problem I guess with access control also on.

I uninstalled and reinstalled several different versions on my Razr Maxx. I
finally had luck with Version 3.2 Beta 2, not version 3.3. Hope this helps
someone. My upload and download both said 0 as well and would not broadcast the
SSID to my laptop. Looks similar to Roy's solution except he tried beta 1.

I was having same no transmit problem with Droid Razr Maxx. I enabled routing
fix (which I needed with my HTC Thunderbolt) and 3.2 beta 2 works like a champ.
 Great Product!!!!
