WIFI getting turned off after stopping tether #394

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
HTC Dream/T-Mobile G1

Which firmware is installed?
Firmware 1.6 with CyanongenMod-4.2.15.1 kernel 2.6.29.6-cyanogenmod

What version of wireless tether are you using?
2.0.2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Have WIFI turned on in system settings
2. Start tethering in WIFI mode
3. Stop tethering

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expecting that WIFI will remain on so that phone can join wireless network when 
available. WIFI is staying off instead

Please provide any additional information below.

I have this same issue with 3.3 beta2 on a rooted HTC evo V running harmonia 
3.17. The only way to get wifi is to restart the phone
