Droid X 2.2 Leak = No more wifi tether #529

Motorola Droid X
Which firmware is installed?
2.2
What version of wireless tether are you using?
2.0.5-pre8
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Open wireless tether
2. Click start tethering
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Error message "Unable to start tethering. Please try again!"
Please provide any additional information below.

Worked great on the previous official release until 2.2, have not had any luck 
with any release available since its download.

Looks like you have lost root or the su-binary (/system/bin/su) has incorrect 
permissions.

Mine works on the Droid X with 2.2 if I disable access control.  If I enable 
access control I can connect to the phone and pull an IP, but no internet 
traffic will go through.  Using the 2.0.2 version.

Be aware: if using OTA firmware version can AND does track application use and 
all changes to /system

Consider CyanogenMod 7 for Droid X
(cm4dx)

Haven't had this phone in a year or so, but thanks. May help someone finding
