No longer working on Froyo (HTC Incredible)

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
HTC Incredible

Which firmware is installed?
Froyo 2.2 w/clockworkmod & evoke free forever (rooted below the radio)

What version of wireless tether are you using?
2.0.2

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Update HTC Incredible to Froyo
2. Open Tether app.
3. attempt to turn on tethering.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect to see tethering on.  I get "Unable to start tethering. Please try 
again!".

Please provide any additional information below.
This app worked fine under 2.1 on my phone with the rooted environment as it is 
now, however something changed in 2.2 that has disabled it and a reinstall of 
the app has not fixed it.  The new carrier service meant to replace this sort 
of app is limited to 5 people at a time and they want to charge me more $$ to 
use it and limit the connection bandwidth per month for a service I had for 
free.  No thanks, I already pay for my data plan once, I won't pay for it 
twice.  Give me Wireless Tether again, please.  :)

2.0.5pre9 works fine (except for speed see Issue #591) on FroYo Incredible.
