HTC Desire Wifi Hotspot is not functioning #998

When I switch on the Wifi Hotspot on my HTC Desire and connect to the phone's 
network through my laptop - it shows as connected, but NO Internet Access.
I have tried restarting, reconnecting, changing static/automatic IP address 
settings and all the usual stuff to no benefit. 

What is the issue?

I have this issue as well wish it would get fixed I am still using 2.0.8 pre1
