Patty Cake Nannies seems good, but they are asking for a lot of details. I ask Jaya for her expert opinion on the matter before I submit the event sitter inquiry

heard back, and for 20 kids it will run around $3k. They teased a bouncy castle, so I asked how much extra it would be. I also said that the number of kids may get lower in the next few months once RSVPs come through

Deposit is 50%, and they are thankfully super flexible with the fact that the # of kids may be much less than what we are expecting. I'm moving forward with the deposit so we can talk planning.

Some thoughts I'm concerned about:

  1. hotel room for sitting. I'd have to buy a hotel room of some sort (that can fit 20 kids?!), and would probably have to ask the sitters what kind of space they would need. This comes with its own costs, and I'd probably have to cover their meals as well somehow since they wouldn't be near the food trucks
  2. Sid Cutter for sitting. The space is really, really open.... and I'm worried the noise we will make will prevent any kids from napping if they want to. However, we could probably do a bouncy castle for the kids ($150), and they would be the most accessible to all parents.
  3. A hybrid solution. I need to see if there is an airbnb that is significantly closer than the hotel, I may be able to rent it out for cheaper than a large hotel room and make life easier for the parents. However, that presents a new logistics problem- there's a third location that needs to be accounted for in the bus route, and now we're forcing all parents partaking to make a special trip for the kids on their way back.

The more I think about #3 the more I think it may be more overhead than is worth it, both for me and the parents. I'm worried that having event care at sid cutter's would be problematic for parents who are trying to let their kids nap, whereas the hotel would only introduce a minor inconvenience to the other half of the parents (they'd have to spend 20min picking their kid up)

waiting on the invoice for patty cake.

There are a FEW [expensive] AirBNBs that are within walking distance to the park. Those may be a good idea for not only child care, but also for the afterparty. I'll talk to the event sitting folks to see what would make them the most comfortable

Asked them about coordinating the room, sleeping, and food. Confirming if they will do it or if we need to.
