modify code such that it runs in local working dir

The deployment modus of this was not specifically clear; hence I didn't know what assumptions I should make on the working directory.

The deployment assumptions now are as follows:

• runs in privileged mode
• runs by default in /home/nixinit so this can be used as the base directory for uploads
