Issues about my external HDD

Suddenly when my HDD was busy adding new files for my electron demo app, HDD mounting in /Volumnes/HDD and/or the appearance of desktop ICON seems to take some time. About 30 seconds to a minute. HDD LED keeps blinking.

Before this, HDD icon appeared when I logged on without delay. Now, I've to wait.

When this happened before, when there was not much files existed, I've formatted the drive and then mounted without delay. Now as the files are a bit huge, I can't do that again.

This HDD, WD40EZAZ is now dead. Used not a year and WD has disappointed me. Replaced with maybe better WD40PURZ.
