What about cooking steps that can be done in parallel? #2

For example while the steak is cooking, one can prepare a salad during the cooking duration of the steak.

Rather than steak cook + salad prepare time, it'll just be the time of steak to cook (as long as salad prepare time is less than steak cook time).

Some actions can't be performed in parallel. Such as cutting/preparing onions before cooking mince etc.

Writing my thoughts down so I don't forget but I think an additional label of passive or active for each step could be an improvement along the lines of what you're talking about
