To avoid issues with X-Pack: 1- Make sure that the "elasticsearch.user" specified in the kibana.yml can execute a search in the required indices.

Other notes:

make sure that the user running kibana have write access to the folder .../plugins/log_browser/ for example (/usr/share/kibana/plugins/log_browser)
