Overall, version 4.x still focuses on UI optimization.

Playback optimization has been put on hold due to some technical issues, I will add some other updates.

4.3 (developing)

~new player UI~ ~new palyback framwork (Exoplayer + self-developed playback framework → Google Jetpack media3)~ new article list widget

Others

There are two apps that are important for RSS world, one is the new version of Reeder and another is Follow.

New Reeder supports more resources, also including audio and video media, but no unread is a bad change I think.

Follow can subscribe more resources, and more categories (article, twitter, picture, video, podcast and notification). And it also has some social features, you can find other user's subscriptions and then subscribe them.

Reeder is aim for iOS and macOS, currently Follow only for desktop, but I think they will provide Android version later.

What do you think?

P.S. I would be grateful if anyone could give me an invitation code of Follow. 😍

I find it interesting that Reeder is opening up to formats other than simple RSS feeds. Many good and interesting pieces of content can also be found on platforms like Mastodon, Bluesky, YouTube, or elsewhere. Not every platform offers an RSS feed, and services that generate them (e.g. RSS-Bridge) seem like a somewhat mediocre solution to me. At the same time, I worry that by expanding too much, Reeder might lose focus and the quality as an RSS reader could decline.

If you haven't obtained the invitation code yet, I can give you one in a few days.

Yes, you can find some ways to get the RSS link for Mastodon, Bluesky, YouTube, or others. It is not a technical issue. Anyway, its integration makes it more convenient for normal users. It's good.

希望大佬能够将http代理设置的修复计划提上日程,这种功能对于我这种一边用tailscale访问rsshub,另一边用rss看推上的图片的用户真的很重要orz
