Laptop crashes when in sleep mode #1585

Every time my laptop enters sleep mode, either by closing the lid or by inactivity, Chrome OS crashes. When I press the power button to resume the laptop starts fresh, with the Dell logo and the Grub menu, instead of awaking from sleep mode. After logging in to Chrome OS I get the message that the system crashed.

I tried several options including "acpi_power_button" and "suspend_s3" but that didn't help. I also disable C3 sleep state in the BIOS, but no change. What helped is changing the kernel from 5.14 to 5.10. On 5.10 sleep/resume works 100%. I could leave it on 5.10 but unfortunately then the Linux VM doesn't install and run anymore.

Laptop is a Dell Latitude 5591 from 2018, with an eight-gen Core i7, with Intel Graphics and an NVIDIA MX130 card. Using the latest stable Brunch framework with Chrome OS 102, based on the Rammus recovery image.

On Windows the laptop sleeps and resumes fine. Also under Linux distro's like Fedora and Pop_OS! this works fine.

Wanted to report I'm having the same issue. Dell Latitude e7470, i7-6600U, Intel graphics. I'm using a r103 volteer image (I know it's not recommended but chrome os seems to behave much better. I have the same issue with rammus anyways.). Switching the kernel to 5.10 fixes it but I need 5.14 because I just got a new wifi card that isn't supported on 5.10
