I tried to install Chrome OS dual booting with Linux Mint. I am trying to boot Chrome os image using grub2 But the moment it start to boot It shows "loading brunch framework " And stuck at this message forever.

Could you boot without "console= vt.global_cursor_default=0 brunch_bootsplash=default" in the grub configuration and attach a short video of the boot process ?

Also, what's your laptop model (or cpu/gpu if it is a desktop) ?

AryanPandeyy commented 3 years ago

I have AMD E1-1200 APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics

I had also attached PC.txt file which contain all information regarding information regarding my PC

Thanks you for helping me.

@AryanPandeyy Hi, I have the same issue on Lenovo G505 AMD E1-1200 APU. Did you resolve that problem?

Could you boot without "console= vt.global_cursor_default=0 brunch_bootsplash=default" in the grub configuration and attach a short video of the boot process ?

Also, what's your laptop model (or cpu/gpu if it is a desktop) ?

whenever i removed the console line it would say "GNU Grub is now loading Chrome OS", and then not do anything. for me, i have "rmmod tpm" at the top of the code. and removing that line will just get it stuck on loading brunch framework. but keeping it gets it stuck on the chrome logo.

I am too stuck on the loading brunch framework,I use a YouTube tutorial to install it.This one"https://youtu.be/ROBpXNonVxc". Any solution plz? And for me if is not stuck on the loading screen,the laptop is restarting again and again by it self

凌动D2550处理器应该装哪个版本的安装框架和恢复镜像搭配使用可以成功呢

pinuke commented 3 years ago

Ok. So I removed the mentioned code from the grub config.

This is what my screen is stuck on:

20210605_224403.jpg

Hardware (a bit ambitious):

Motherboard - ROG Strix x570-E CPU - Ryzen 7 5800x RAM - 64gb ddr4 Storage - 1TB nvme (samsung 980) GPU - rx 6700xt

Running triple boot on the nvme Using "zork" (88000 MiB partition size) Not sure if zork likes being run on the 5800x

grub note:

I'm not too familiar with grub scripts. The "\" on line ends in the grub code is a little confusing. May or may not have copied the entry correctly, because of it.

This is the grub that I copy pasted:

menuentry "ChromeOS" --class "brunch" {
    rmmod tpm
    img_part=/dev/nvme0n1p6
    img_path=/chromos.img
    search --no-floppy --set=root --file $img_path
    loopback loop $img_path
    linux (loop,7)/kernel boot=local noresume noswap loglevel=7 disablevmx=off \
        cros_secure cros_debug options= loop.max_part=16 img_part=$img_part img_path=$img_path \
         quiet
    initrd (loop,7)/lib/firmware/amd-ucode.img (loop,7)/lib/firmware/intel-ucode.img (loop,7)/initramfs.img
}

menuentry "ChromeOS (debug mode)" --class "brunch-debug" {
    rmmod tpm
    img_part=/dev/nvme0n1p6
    img_path=/chromos.img
    search --no-floppy --set=root --file $img_path
    loopback loop $img_path
    linux (loop,7)/kernel boot=local noresume noswap loglevel=7 disablevmx=off \
        cros_secure cros_debug options= loop.max_part=16 img_part=$img_part img_path=$img_path
    initrd (loop,7)/lib/firmware/amd-ucode.img (loop,7)/lib/firmware/intel-ucode.img (loop,7)/initramfs.img
}

Hmm... I didn't change my kernel version. Let me try that

EDIT: changing to 5.10 did not help

Napoleon99999 commented 3 years ago

How to change kernel please 🥺
