Secret key wiped every time reboot on SteamOS #4

The Nordvpn.client works fine when i enter the secret keys, but each time I reboot, SteamOS (3.5) seems to wipe the secrets. How can I make these stick or is there a simple script I could run to re-enable before launching the VPN tool?

Mmmmmm I guess you could point the desktop file to a bash script that setups the secrets and then launches the client. Seems like a strange issue, and finding info online is difficult for any combination of search terms :(
