Doing makes some automated metadata extraction possible, e.g. for the benefit of the Emacsmirror or Melpa.

If you do not want to maintain this package anymore, one option is to transfer it to the Emacs orphanage, where it would receive limited maintenance and we would handle hand-off to a new maintainer (if a volunteer shows up), without you having to get involved.

If that's what you would like to do, then transfer the repository to me (tarsius). Due to permission issues you cannot transfer directly to an organization you are not a member of.
