your deps are wrong you can't even install this and I just wasted an hour trying

Same for me. It's a shame, I really liked the icons design. However, I kept looking around for another "extension" to display icons in terminal and I found the logo-ls repo. It's easier to install, setup and is compatible with the integrated terminal of vscode.
