Import files by dropping them on the tree #101

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Drag and drop a file from Explorer on keynote's tree
2.Nothing happens
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
In KN 1.6.5 a hyperlink to the dropped file is created in the note at
cursor position. Instead in KN 1.7.6 nothing happens

What version are you using? On what operating system?
1.7.6 on WIN XP PRO

Please provide any additional information below.
It would be great to use KN 1.7.6 new ability to edit hyperlinks to rename
such "looong" links as those created by dropping a file on the tree in KN
1.6.5.
mucho !!!

You are right, that functionality it isn't working

¡Un saludo y gracias por el apoyo!

Are you planning to fix it? And, if so, will it be possible to edit that kind of
hyperlinks in the same way KN NF 1.7.6 allows to do with URL links ? I hope so
! That
would be very convenient.
1.6.5,
por ejemplo para agregar imagenes. Ciao

Of course, that's why I changed to Accepted

Great !!! Thank you again !!!

http://code.google.com/p/keynote-nf/wiki/LastVersion_BETA. Esa wiki la volveré
a
mostrar en la página principal.

Un saludo

I've just dl the new beta: this functionality is now working fine!!! Thanx
But I wasn't able to edit this kind of hyperlinks in the same way KeyNote NF
allows
to to with URL links. Is it possible in any way?
Another question: is there a way to disable the "Select import method" message?
The
only option in it is: "create hyperlink to the file", so I think it is useless
and it
can become annoying if you are linking many files.
Te
agradezco
tu extensa explicacion al "comment 6", ahora sì me queda perfectamente claro
come
up the
good job!!!

Hello
The hyperlink generated is the same that those include via other methods. So,
you
should be able to edit it in the same way.
Please, see how you have configured "URL actions", in Tools -> Configuration
Options... -> Actions

And related to the message "Select import method": it is not allways the only
options. It depends on whether the file is recognized as a text file or other
recognized format. If not, the only option is to create an hyperlink to the
file.

In Options -> Advanced -> 'File types' you can enter extensions that KeyNote
should
treat as plain text files.

Besides, do you know that it is possible to import many files at a time? (they
have
to be of the same type, for example text files)

You are quite right: I didn't realize that the option: ''''launch "file://" URLs
without prompting'''' was checked by default. Unchecking it KeyNote NF 1.7.7 has
exactly the behavior I need: thanx again for guiding me through it !!!

About the "select import method" message:
I mostly use this feature to link a few different images (not text files) to
each
note, say a total of 200 images in 100 notes, and what I need is just a link to
them
in the notes. The "link-editability" feature you introduced in KN NF is,
therefore, a
great improvement for me!!!
In my "workflow" it would be even better to have an option to prevent that
message to
show up when importing, for instance, JPG files. Is this already possible? If
not, do
you think you can implement this feature in the future?
By the way: I have added an "images" folder in my KN folder and, whenever I
should
place an image in a KN note, I save it in that folder an then drag and drop it
on the
KN tree to import it (with a link at cursor position). Clicking on the link
opens the
image in IrfanView. I find this a convenient way to import images without
making the
KN file too heavy and slow. I remember, a long time ago, Marek Jedlinski was
thinking
about integrating KN with IrfanView to handle images. Sadly, that was never
acheived,
but the 2 programs can work side by side very well linking images.

Un saludo, gracias y hasta pronto !!!

Of course, it is easy

The management of images is something that I know must be enhaced. I'll try to
find a
way to do it.

Si no me
equivoco,

(comment 9 y
10:
option to disable the "select import method" msg for image file types) O tu
opinas
que tendrìamos que seguir aquì?

Un saludo, ciao
