[BUG-234612] Suggestion: Hide Scripted Agents from the World Map #11511

How would you like the feature to work?

When viewing the world map, any agents marked as scripted would not show up in the World Map. This means:-

Why is this feature important to you? How would it benefit the community?

Recent discussions amongst users lead me to feel that SecondLife is slowly gaining a reputation as a 'dead' platform, due to users frequently teleporting to places that look like there are people to meet, but those people turn out to be bots.

I think that by hiding bots from the world map, we avoid disappointing and misleading players who are looking for real people to interact with. In general I feel that the green dot to a player should suggest there is other life to be found in that region.

If the player encounters too many green dots that are bots, the player may become disenfranchised and just think the entire game is made of bot accounts (which it is not!). The player will perceive that the game is dishonest and intentionally misleading them, which is not a good look.

This is why I think it is vital that we do not show bots on the world map. Feel free to discuss.

Agreed. There is a perception that all idle or unresponsive avatars are in fact bots used to fake traffic and that there are few, if any, real people in SL at all.

Different colour on world / mini map with the option (enabled by default) to not show registered bots at all.

Issue accepted. We have no estimate when it may be implemented. Please see future release notes for this fix.
