It's always fun when this happens :D
You should be able to fix yourself by doing the following
- In inventory, Shift select blocks of 20 or so attached items and right click -> detatch from yourself (dont remove too many at a time or you might crash)
- Once you are down to a reasonable number of still worn items, right click the Current Outfit system folder -> Remove from current outfit, to take everything off bar skin, shape, baldy and eyes.

Replace outfit & you should be back to normal.
Note that when you detach a bunch of items, don't be surprised if more items get attached. All the items in the folder you accidentally chose to attach will be queued up to attach, so once some items are detached, the next batch of items will attach, up to the 38 attachment limit. Keep going with detaching 20 ish items in batches though and everntually you will get there!
Just to note - this problem can also happen on the LL Viewer & other TPVs based off the LL Viewer (Genesis & Singularity are based off the older SL 1.23 viewer). The LL viewer & other V6 codebase viewers though limit the number of items that can be queued up to be worn when you accidentally wear a large folder, so if you have problems getting the above steps to work, hop onto the LL Viewer or Firestorm to fix yourself. I'm fairly sure the above steps will work on Genesis & Singularity though.
If this doesn't help, thern I advise you to contact LL supporty directly and they will be able to force your avatar to wear one of the default outfits the next time you login. What just happened?
I was using Genesis Viewer. I was in the Inventory Recents tab, and had just clicked to open an Demo file I had gotten. Suddenly my body disappeared (Maitreya Lara) and multiple hair, along with the huds, accessories, etc started appearing on the screen and on my avatar's head. It just kept loading them. I went to the hair folder in inventory, and right clicked and selected "remove from outfit" over and over, but it wouldn't stop. I tried reloading. Nothing. I renamed the hair folder. Nothing. Deleted the DEMO folder in recents. Nothing. Selected, stop animating my avatar. Nothing. Tried putting on a basics outfit I had made, that had no clothes or hair in it. Still nothing. I logged out. Logged back in, and it continued. Logged out and switched to Singularity Viewer. It continued. Then suddenly it stopped. I only had my classic head showing. I tried to load my Maitreya body, and suddenly all the hair and accessories in the hair folder started loading again. A person in Singularity chat said to shut off any RLV things, and also to report the bug to SL I unchecked something in the RLVA, under Advanced menu while in Singularity, and the hair quit, and I got it all off. Couldn't get my body or other attachment to load, so I just logged out and started this report.

Standing in my house, looking at my inventory, recent tab, and had just clicked to open a DEMO folder.
What were you expecting to happen instead?
Nothing really. I was going to click on a item in the demo folder, to put on, but never got to do that when all the hair and accessories started attaching.
Other information
I know that both of the viewers I was using are 3rd party, but I feel this was an SL issue, since I switched viewers and the problem persisted.
