The Maint-RC breaks all my rigged mesh heads (from Catwa, LAQ and Genesis). The problems described above happen intermittently, this one happens without fail. It's now impossible to take photographs or a machinima when zoomed in using CTRL+0 because the heads just disappear. It's common to be zoomed in using CTRL+0 when taking snapshots or making video recordings of avatars because otherwise you get the ugly fish-eye effect.
Fig 5 attached shows my Catwa Nicki rigged head disappearing on the Maint-RC. Fig 6 shows everything working correctly on default release.
I have to crank RenderRiggedFactorMultiplier up really high for the heads not to disappear, which basically removes the BUG-11627 fix. The gif in Fig 5 is using the default setting for RenderRiggedFactorMultiplier. I think RenderRiggedFactorMultiplier needs to be exposed in preferences so it's easier for people to set higher. RenderRiggedFactorMultiplier is just going to end up being another RenderVolumeLODFactor where rigged mesh creators tell everyone in product notecards to crank the setting up. I'd rather the BUG-11627 fix just got backed out personally because most of my rigged attachments are breaking :(

Our apologies, it appears this jira has been a victim of a spammer. We're cleaning up the offending comments, sorry for the mess!
Steps to Reproduce
Login on the MAINT-RC: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/4.0.9.320038
Wear rigged mesh on your avatar.
Go about your normal SL routine including teleporting to other regions.
Keep an eye on your worn rigged mesh to see if it is rendering correctly.
Observed Behaviour
On the Maint-RC viewer, my worn rigged mesh will often become invisible after a teleport.
This is not a case of a ghosted attachment, the rigged mesh attachment is still worn (both locally and server side) and I can edit it & see it's collapsed down to it's lowest LOD level, which is often just a single triangle so therefore it renders invisible.
See Fig 1 attached showing my Catwa rigged mesh head invisible after a teleport. (Just realized I boxed the wrong attachment in current outfit folder on that image - worn head is the "CATWA STATIC head Nicki").
Fig 2 show the invisible head in edit.
Editing the invisible rigged mesh does not work to make it visible again.
I have to either detach & reattach the head (doesn't always work) or teleport to another region or relog to make the head visible again.
Fig 3 gif shows me right clicking where the head should be & the head remains invisible.
Rigged mesh will also sometimes display full of holes - see Fig 4 attached. My rigged LAQ Trinity rigged mesh head is also pretty much invisible in this image. This image was actually taken before I had teleported - sometimes the rigged mesh will be invisible or full of holes at login.
This seems like a really bad regression of BUG-7239, BUG-6803 & BUG-11309. I know this bug was never fully fixed but it was much improved in recent builds, yet on the Maint-RC it much worse again.
I suspect the cause is the fix for BUG-11627.
Expected Behaviour
Not to have my rigged mesh turn invisible or render full of holes again.
