Hiya Pettycoat,

My clothes are on hangers. when I move this to show outfits, the screen freezes before showing normal.

The new Outfit Gallery tab in the Appearance panel is a new feature. You can add textures to the coat hanger thumbnails to show a picture of each outfit. I believe the viewer freeze you are having when you switch tabs in the appearance panel is caused by the memory leak in the Visual Outfit Browser - for details see BUG-40787 This problem is fixed in the Maintenance-RC viewer, which you can download here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/5.0.1.322513

On this viewer, the Appearance Panel will also remember the last tab you had open so if you don't want to use the new Outfit Gallery, it won't be so in your face.

Are you still experiencing the freezing problems on the Maintenance-RC viewer?

If your avatar is still a cloud after updating to the Maintenance-RC viewer: Quick fix that works for most cases: Open your inventory and expand the "My Outfits" folder. Choose any saved outfit folder and drag it onto your avatar and your avatar should then rez.

If this doesn't help, try logging into a different region and changing your outfit and see if your avatar will rez. If your problem turns out to be limited to one specific region, then this region may need to be restarted.

If testing on a different region does not help the please can you try the following: In the top menu bar of the viewer, go to Me -> Choose an Avatar -> Classic -> Choose one of those avatars and use "Select". Your avatar should hopefully rez correctly once you have done this and you can then get dressed normally.

If this doesn't help, create a new folder in your inventory and inside this folder, place a skin, a shape, a hairbase and some eyes (non-prim). Then Right click this folder and REPLACE outfit. You must replace, not wear or add to or it wont work. If your avatar then rezzes, you can get dressed normally.

If you are still having problems then please follow the steps on this wiki page: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Troubleshooting-avatar-appearance/ta-p/1256955 Does this fix your clouded avatar?

My SL view has never run properly as per others in world. 1) In appearance> My outfit> put in search... my screen freezes up... it has done this with every update, with other computers as well. My PC is a brand new gaming computer, which would easily handle all SL requirements. 2. SL is turning off, or booting me out, no warning or slowness just out, sometimes slow . Says when logging back on oh I forgot, but you wait a couple of second then you may get back to where you were or home. I have turned off my Firewall in Webr oot and it did not help. I have a hard time rezing in stores and some venues. ie Fogbound and stores, the items are triangles.

I have turned off my Firewall in Webroot and it did not help. I have a hard time rezing in stores and some venues. ie Fogbound and stores, the items are triangles.

Webroot is well known to cause severe problems with Second Life viewers, in particular extreme slow loading of mesh & textures & poor performance, often even dragging the whole system performance down because it pins your disc use at 100% when an SL viewer is running. The best thing you can do is to totally uninstall Webroot & choose another antivirus software - while Webroot is installed on that system, it's impossible to know if Webroot is the cause of all your problems, but it's likely. You can use one of the well known free antivirus software programs that's known not to cause issues with SL viewers for now, until you decide which antivirus software you wish to use to replace Webroot, for example https://www.avira.com/en/free-antivirus-windows Uninstall all Webroot components, reboot your computer, install Avira or whichever antivirus software you wish to use & reboot your computer again. Then see if this has fixed some or all of your problems.

1) In appearance> My outfit> put in search... my screen freezes up... it has done this with every update, with other computers as well. My PC is a brand new gaming computer, which would easily handle all SL requirements.

I don't think this part of the problem is caused by Webroot, but let us know if it still happens after getting rid of Webroot. If you do still have the problem, roughly how many saved outfits do you have and what is the total size of your inventory? If you have many saved outfits &/or a large inventory, performing a search in the appearance panel does cause the viewer performance to slow down quite a lot.

Also to note, you said this new computer was a gaming system. Your system information shows that the viewer is using the onboard intel graphics though (Graphics Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 2000), which is not a gaming card. Do you also have a discreet graphics card on your system? If you do, you need to set the viewer to use the gaming graphics card. I'll explain how to do that if you do indeed have two graphics cards on that system.
