[BUG-41647] [PLACE PAGES] Markdown ordered list acting funny #13139

Open sl-service-account opened 7 years ago

sl-service-account commented 7 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Visit place pages list
  2. Choose a place to edit
  3. Attempt to add markdown ordered list
  4. Save

Actual Behavior

On the place page:

RULES: 1. Please no noise spam, this is a quiet place. 2. Leave others be if they don't want to be messed with. 3. Quiddity's rules are also enforced. 4. No harming yeens. On the preview: RULES:

Please no noise spam, this is a quiet place. Leave others be if they don't want to be messed with. Quiddity's rules are also enforced. No harming yeens.

Expected Behavior

On the place page AND preview:

RULES:

  1. Please no noise spam, this is a quiet place.
  2. Leave others be if they don't want to be messed with.
  3. Quiddity's rules are also enforced.
  4. No harming yeens. Example of working ordered list on github https://gist.github.com/FelixWolf/2192cbc1ab91097510fe51d0eec2a409

Other information

There is no System > Place pages (places.secondlife.com) system choice. :< It should be noted, this can be resolved partially by adding a empty line between the lists BUT the markdown spec says it should behave in the expected behavior way.

After some testing, it turns out that this is due to backwards parsing search. This will not work:

**RULES**:
1. Please no noise spam, this is a quiet place.
2. Leave others be if they don't want to be messed with.
3. Quiddity's rules are also enforced.
4. No harming yeens.

But this will:

**RULES**:

1. Please no noise spam, this is a quiet place.
2. Leave others be if they don't want to be messed with.
3. Quiddity's rules are also enforced.
4. No harming yeens.

Both are valid markdown though, hopefully this narrows down the issue.
