[BUG-5561] Problems loading group memberlists

Steps to Reproduce

I open the people window, go to groups, select e.g. SL-Events as group, go to Roles & Members tab, switch to Members. Now only people from my friendslist load, eventhough there are almost 12.000 people in the group. I click the Refresh-button and the memberlist loads again, it jerks about 5 times now as if the refresh starts over, without me doing anything. This can be best observed when sorting the list for Status. The memberlist eventually loads completly. If I click the Invite-button now, it reloads again. If I close the group and wait for some time and open the memberlist again, a lot of names have disappeard and I have to make another refresh.

Actual Behavior

I have problems loading the group memberlist of my group. When opening the memberlist of a large group, at first it loads only partially, it seems to be people that are somehow known to my viewer, either those from my friendslist or names that I loaded with another group previously. When clicking reload, the memberlist loads completly, but it automatically makes a reload about 5 times. Also, when I now click the Invite-button, the memberlist makes a reload and it always switches to the Roles-tab. I don't know if that is on purpose.

Expected Behavior

The memberlist should load only once and all group members should appear. Names should be available till I log out.

Other information

Baker Linden fixed the loading of large groups some time ago and it was working for some time. Then a few months ago I had to always load the memberlist twice to get it completly and recently the jerking and automatic reloads appeared.

Hi Stephan, to narrow down the cause of the partial loading issue you see, could you please attach a the viewer's SecondLife.log from an instance of this bug, and note the exact times when the following two events occurred?

1. The viewer started to refresh the ban list (before the failed member list fetch)
2. The member list fetch appeared to stall

Hi Maestro,

sorry for the late answer, but I was on vacation. I attached the logfile. I tried loading the group right after logging in to SL, so there shouldn't be any other information in the file. Here is what happened: I logged in to SL, I opened the group window and selected my group SL-Events. I switched to 'Roles & Members' and Members tab. The list is sorted for Status. That way it is easier to observe the partial loading. Eventually there should be 9 members with last log in for 2013/11/1 on top of the list. The reason for this is because I eject all members frequently that haven't logged in to SL for more than 6 months. So the list starts appearing. When I created this Jira it was only people from my friendslist, but now significantly more members appear, though not all, maybe half of the complete memberlist, which is about 12000 people in total. Then it suddenly stops. I wait for about 20 seconds but no more names appearing. So I click the refresh-button. The list loads, starts over for at least 3 times and finally loads the complete list including one name with last log in from 2012, which should long have been removed by me.

I installed the Snowstorm viewer and tried loading the group. Since I sort for status, I saw some names appear with last log in 2013/11/1, then they disappeard 3 times which should indicate that the list kept reloading, but then the list loaded completely. I did not have to click the refresh button myself as before. So eventhough list loads completely now, there still seems to be something wrong. I'd like to add that I have display names disabled. So just legacy names show. And I am in Germany, so maybe the distance to the server plays a role. Though I have 6Mbit bandwidth.
