Heya Ima,

If you change to use the list view (rather then the thumbnail view) in the Mac filepicker, does this stop you from crashing?

Ref: BUG-4257 and BUG-4398

Hey Whirly and so we meet again. I changed to the list view ... same problem. What I did tonight was have my daughter, same computer, same Maverick, log in with my AV , she is in another state and she was able to upload ten pictures in a row. No crashes. I then took over my avatar , and the first try to upload I crashed. I'm reinstalled using "sunshine beta" per TJ Linden, no solution. This is an intermittent problem. I can upload one, maybe two, then the next the moment I touch "open" I crash.

Can you reproduce your upload crash and then before relaunching the viewer, zip up your entire logs folder and attach it to this issue using More Actions -> Attach files. This page tells you where to find your logs folder: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.3

Also to check, are you running the viewer in fullscreen mode? (ref BUG-5623)

There is no crash report or data. I try to "upload" and instantly I am out of Second Life, as if I'd never opened the program at all. I've never had a crash report when this happens. I did the zip logs when the music in SL , some of it, was making me crash. This is very different. There has never been a crash report. I hit "upload" click the item on my Desktop , and then I crash completely. I tried it again this very morning and again the same result .. Crash.

Hi Ima, along with a request for your logs, can you tell me if you experience this same crash using the current Release Viewer?

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Ima Flanagan commented at 2014-04-14T16:33:50Z

Mornin' Alexa. I can't send the logs because when I recreated the "crash" there are none at all. Usually when I crash there is a "report this" and from that I can' get details of the crash, but there is no report when I crash from trying to upload an item. It's the cleanest and fasted crash I've ever had. I'd appreciate it if you'd tell me another way to get the crash report and I'll do that action. Since this started , last Thursday, I have clean installed Second life three times. I am using the current viewer. Everything was fine until last Thursday. Then early afternoon for me it started.. It's an intermittent problem. I can maybe if crossed crossables are in place get one upload to work , then the constant crashes.

Whirly , I know I look the moron, but the last bug log file I sent was different. I have followed your steps and hope this is what is needed.

Ima Flanagan commented at 2014-04-14T18:43:06Z

I also recreated the "crash" then sent you the log files.

Attached the "My Headache" file in a format that can be easily read by Windows.

Whirly.. i have no idea what you mean. I have an Apple Mac, so how do I save it in Windows.

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Ima Flanagan commented at 2014-04-16T01:56:46Z

Tried many times to upload today, each time I crashed. Like a bad rash, it's getting worse. Any more ideas?

Ima, can you attach your actual viewer logs after reproducing this crash?

Ima Flanagan commented at 2014-04-17T04:36:20Z

This is the logger file after re-creating a crash... tonight..
