[BUG-6148] After uploading a new animation with hand animation, the hand fails for some avatars, but not others. #14035

Steps to Reproduce

Testing was done in both viewers mentioned above, uploading was done in firestorm for both animation uploads. testing was done with AO on and AO off, after "stop all animations", and always while standing freely (not sitting or hovering). I performed a subsequent test by putting the animation into a scripted object to trigger the animation and again, the hand animation worked for myself, but not for another player. We tested on two Main Server, mainland sims. Tkachiev and Sabre.

Actual Behavior

Made two upload attempts, both exhibiting the same issue. uploaded a new priority 4 animation, non-looping, in BVH format, made in Qavimator, with "Fist Right" hand pose selected. When played on my account and one friend's, the right fist plays properly, but two other friends, given full perm versions of the animation, never break the "Hands Relaxed" hand animation. The players whose hand animations are not functioning tried in both the latest Firestorm viewer 4.6.5.40833 and the latest LL viewer 3.7.8 (289922).

Expected Behavior

I expect the Fist Right hand animation to play in all instances of the animation being triggered.

Heya Miss Ilwicht,

This can happen if an avatar is wearing certain scripted attachments that interfere with the hand poses. The common cause of this is one of the many "Boot fixer" or ankle lock scripts.

Make sure that the players whose hand animations remain in the relaxed pose are not wearing any scripted attachments at all and see if this problem still reproduces.

I'll give a repro to show the "Boot fixer" problem:

Does this explain the problem you are seeing?

facepalm Of course. Thank you, Whirly. I believe both were, infact, wearing shoes with "foot fixers". I'll give your suggestion a try when all are online again, but I'm fairly certain you've got the right answer to this. Sorry for false alarming :/

Marking as Expected Behavior for now. We can reopen it if Miss Ilwicht finds that removing scripted attachments doesn't fix the issue.
