[BUG-6830] resident data on world pages are public Ref Case 01938617 #14637

Open sl-service-account opened 10 years ago

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

It is a general Issue, also when not logged on

Actual Behavior

Even though mine privacy settings are set to " Second Life Only" my whole profile is visible on internet => http://world.secondlife.com/resident/ba9a21c1-21c4-4c6b-ba63-ae9965520709

When I do a search on Bing, on my avi name " Surge Allen" my profile shows up with all details. See provided link.

I checked all privacy settings and they are set correct.

Support advised me to open a bug report (please see support ref case 01938617)

Expected Behavior

I expect my profile text and content not to be exposed outside Second Life if I set the settings the correct way

Other information

Support advised me to open a bug report, please read case : 01938617

Heya Surge,

The privacy settings you chose only apply to your web profile at https://my.secondlife.com/Surge.Allen

If I logout of my.secondlife.com, I cannot see your web profile. All I see on your profile page is this: http://i.imgur.com/s4cN3tg.png When I am logged into my.secondlife.com, I am able to see your full profile as expected because you have your privacy set to "Second Life Only"

The link you gave at http://world.secondlife.com/resident/ba9a21c1-21c4-4c6b-ba63-ae9965520709 is not your profile, it is part of the world API - see https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/World_API

Hello,

Please logout from Internet and perform an search in BING search engine on my name Surge Allen. You will get some links in return where you can see my full profile, text and pic's If that link is part of the world API, still it shouldnt be possible to see all content of the profile if people are not logged on? Its open for all that way.

Hello Surge,

As whirly already stated, the privacy settings in question only apply to my.secondlife.com and not world.secondlife.com. With that said we will accept this report as a feature request for additional privacy on world.secondlife.com but this is not a commitment to change it.

Thanks, The Lindens
