[BUG-6838] Avatars won't render skin and clothes textures and alphas #14643

Steps to Reproduce

Issue began after logging in Second Life after using the Lumiya viewer (for Android phones). Before, avatars would load almost instantly with no issues, and now it takes a while (ranges from 5 to 60 minutes) to the particle cloud to disappear and show the avatars, but with grey skin, no clothes and no alphas.

Actual Behavior

After a long time watching avatars as a cloud particle, the shapes and attachments are loaded, but skin is grey, clothes layers don't load and alphas aren't active. The issue happens not only with my avatar, but any other and in any sim.

Expected Behavior

Expected avatars to fully load with no issues like the grey skin and missing alphas.

Other information

Issue was posted on the community forums (http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Your-Avatar/Grey-skin-on-all-avatars/m-p/2787992) and as stated, the issue happened on 3 different devices and viewers, and many solutions were tried to no avail, like clearing cache, changing DNS, rebaking textures, etc. One particular thing to note is that my avatar fully loads it's textures when in an Edit Menu (such as the one for shapes) and has a chance to continue that way after closing the menu or return back to the grey skin. Other avatars won't change while applying this "workaround".

Thanks for the log.

There has been another spate of reports about this problem over the last couple of days - I've seen other reports on the forums, there is another JIRA issue reporting the same and also several Firestorm support tickets about it.

This looks to be the same problem with Easy_7 code for bakes which was seen in issue BUG-6275

Zkaar, who is your ISP? You said you had already tried changing DNS, but did you try changing to Google Public DNS? This has fixed people in the past having the Easy_7 and failed avatar bakes problem. Ahhh I just read through your forum post at http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Your-Avatar/Grey-skin-on-all-avatars/td-p/2787938 and I see you already tried Google public DNS.

I have been tinkering here on my desktop and noticed that if I delete all SL and Firestorm related entries on my AVG Firewall and accept those when prompted, the issue stops happening, but as stated by the other user at my forum post (http://community.secondlife.com/t5/Your-Avatar/Grey-skin-on-all-avatars/td-p/2787938) it does not survive long. I'll wait and see for now.
