[BUG-11291] Bad Sim Transition causes failure to turn using keyboard keys following transition. #1507

Steps to Reproduce

I was driving a Vehicle down a Linden Managed Road into another Simulator (San Denis), which resulted in a bad simulator transition.

Actual Behavior

I was driving a Vehicle on Zindra's Southern Roads from my home In Moni Targa, and after driving for a short while, entered San Denis, Which didn't complete my transition, instead, continuing to fling me into space, without being relocated to where I entered the simulator. After this, I teleported back home, only to find that my A and D keys do not work.

Expected Behavior

I was expecting to be able to control my avatar as usual.

Other information

It seems that this only happens following bad sim transitions, and it seems that you can still move your avatar normally while using the mouselook option.

Hi Rathgrith027,

It sure sounds like your vehicles steering controls lock up those keys after a bad region crossing.

There are a few things you could try to recover from that state without having to relog into Second Life.

  1. Re-enter the vehicle and drive it a bit to confirm the A & D keys work. Then exit the vehicle. Do the keys work now?
  2. Select Me > Movement > Stop animating me. Do the A & D keys work now?

In general terms, without knowing exactly what vehicle you were driving and the scripts contained within, it would be very difficult to diagnose this problem any further. Can you point me to the Marketplace listing where you purchased the vehicle or provide a Slurl to its location?

Please let me know and press the Info Provided button.

Thanks!

I'm sorry for not responding - I totally forgot about this. I can't remember the details - but If I encounter the bug again (might try before the rolling restarts, as simulators are usually bad around that time) I'll report back here with more information.
