[BUG-7502] My Avatar is Completely Messed Up #15202

Open sl-service-account opened 10 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

I had just signed in. I turned my avi around to try to fix her clothes and her face was all messed up. I was about to just figure out how to pull the avi into blender and put clothing directly on the mesh...was NOT expecting to find the mesh caved in and everything sticking out in weird polys!

Actual Behavior

I just signed into sl for the first time in a couple of weeks. I was having issues with clothes fitting on the mesh, got frustrated, and just gave up. When I signed back in today my avatar was worse than before: the skin was through her clothing, and her face looked like a picasso. I tried to load a new base avatar but that didn't work. All of the furniture was messed up as well. I have messages saying the property owner doesn't allow changes to anything on the property....but I am the property owner...or the renter? I guess? The house was a free one that came with membership.

Expected Behavior

I was expecting my avi to be normal if a little underdressed.

Other information

wtf????

Heya sidhekitty,

I suspect the problem with your avatar is because you are still using one of the fitted mesh starter avatars and you have ATI graphics.

There is a known problem with these avatars on AMD graphics cards with certain graphics settings - please see BUG-5156 and BUG-5139 for this bug.

If you are able to update your graphics driver to the 14.4 catalyst or later, part of this bug will be fixed. You are using the Catalyst 13.12 driver currently. The latest driver for you card can be downloaded here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%208.1%20-%2064 If you are unsure if this is the correct driver for your card or your system is a laptop, please use the AMD autodetect tool to update your drivers: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/auto-detect-tool

Once your driver is updated, the bug filed at BUG-5139 will be fixed and you wlll see non-fitted rigged mesh display correctly on all graphics settings.

The driver update does not fix the glitching on Fitted mesh however. You will need to change some graphics settings to fix this:

If you are still having problems viewing your avatar correctly, please go to Me -> Choose an avatar -> choose any of the avatars from the Classic tab - these avatars are not fitted mesh and will not have this bug for you.

Does this help?
