[BUG-7505] Body crusher animations for quadruped avatars do not appear to load #15205

Open sl-service-account opened 10 years ago

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

Present at Caledon Oxbridge, otherwise behaving normally.

Actual Behavior

An avatar in dragon form has come into view, only the dragon shape is distorted and confused - apparently the prim components of the avatar are being mapped onto a normal humanoid body shape, rather than one affected by the "body crusher" animations used for quadruped avatars.

Expected Behavior

Expecting to see a normal quadruped avatar shape. (Well, not expecting so much as hoping, perhaps. This has happened with every quadruped avatar I've seen since my last viewer update.)

Possibly this is BUG-3416 BUG-3416 is however not a new problem. If this problem is new (or worse) since the Second Life 3.7.17 (294943) (which is the Maintenance-RC) release, I guess it is related to BUG-7433 / BUG-7436.

Glorf, you are currently using the Maintenance-RC viewer which has some known problems with not loading avatar shapes and attachment positions correctly (see BUG-7433 and BUG-7436). If you revert to the default release (download here: https://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.7.17.294959) does this fix the problem?

I can easily reproduce this on Second Life 3.7.17 (294943) Sep 29 2014 17:00:36 (Second Life Release) with my Strangeling quad avatar. This is definitely not BUG-3416, this is a new problem on the MAINT-RC.

Glorf, do you know which dragon quad avatar this person was wearing? Can you give a marketplace link for it?

Here is my repro for the Strangeling avatar:

Repro

Observed Avatar A will always look correct to themselves no matter which viewer they are using. Avatar B and any observers using the MAINT-RC viewer will always see Avatar A deformed. Avatar C and any observers on default release viewer will always see Avatar A correctly.
