Steps to Reproduce

I was at my skybox

Actual Behavior

The last few days every time i log in to second life i am being logged out after a few minutes.I tried logging in from a different computer i have and the same thing happened.I logged in from a different location and i had no problem.I assumed its a problem with my network so i called the company and i upgraded my internet connection, but i still keep logging out.I have seen many people having the same problem, some of them even gave up trying. Many suggesrions were given but none of them said that their problem was fixed. Why is this happening and why can t be solved?Where can i file a ticket to LL concerning exactly that problem? Is it my connection and how it reacts with the sl servers? The problem started right after the last scheduled server maintenance 23 October 2014.Please help me find out what is happening.

Expected Behavior

I was expecting to stay logged inworld

Other information

I have tried multiple viewers but nothing changed.

Thanx for the replay Alexa and iam sorry for my lack of information. After checking thoroughly my network i tried taking a virtualroute test to see where exaclty in the internet route the problem was.The analysis was that in general this route is reasonably quick, with hops responding on average within 143ms. However, all hops after hop 7 in network 'Level 3 Communications, Inc.' respond particularly slowly. So i assume that there is a connection point that causes my disconnections. I filed a ticket to the LL and iam waiting for their response.

Heya Storm,

A few thoughts I have to help you narrow this down while waiting for support to reply...

Thank you Whirly for your answer.I have already tried logging in with alts, i even tried to create a new one but the problem remains, i still get logged out.I have tried to connect with a cable but nothing changed, so all i have to do now is try changing the router.

I am in the SLCG and typically patrol by boat all over the grid on every continent.  I have tried to do this with both the current (non-animesh) Firestorm viewer and the current (6.02) Linden Labs viewer.  Crashes due to bad sim handoffs that cause you to "freeze" are the same with each viewer.  Here is what I know:

1) They are statistically numerous. In a typical "patrol" of 50 sims you are likely to fail a minimum of 4 times.  Typically it is more like 6.  That is about a 10% failure rate.

2) It does not matter the sim. If you pick a sim in the center of a 3 x 3 square you can travel around in those 9 sims and you will crash randomly.  Sometimes you crash, sometimes you don't

3) Once you "lock up" you cannot do anything.  Any attempt to teleport tells you that teleports are blocked.  Oddly enough when these problems used to happen, the solution was to open the world map, double click on the sim that the world map showed you being in, and you would get the Teleports Blocked message, but you would be unfrozen.

4) You can immediately log back into that sim normally and it and continue (if you can find your vehicle or a rez zone.)

5) Interestingly enough it appears avatar attachments may play some role though it is very difficult to tell.  However when you log back normally (item 4 above) more than likely your avatar will have some corruption of mesh attachments.  You may be missing attachments though the "wearing" list shows them being worn.  Refreshing attachments and textures typically doesn't resolve the issue.

6)  Other things:
