sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

I did not crash out or anything it all started friday

Actual Behavior

I have tried working through tech support and they could not find any problem. I had Boris and TJ and a friend of mine log onto my account and the same things were not happening to them. I have made sure my cable modem has been reset, my dns cache dumped, my upload and download on my modem is fine. I have logged on with my alt and the same thing is happening. My computer is running all other programs fine

Expected Behavior

no matter what sim I am on it happens

Other information

Some weird things have happen. Like textures loading odding when I go an rebake them for instance a skin was all misaligned showing a big eyeball on my chest. root prims showing still in my hand and all sparkles. Basically my mesh is all invisible and every thing else rezzes at a snails pace.

The next time you experience this issue, can you please attach your Second Life log? http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.3

Alexa - do I sent them for viewable for all users?

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Monty Linden commented at 2014-11-03T23:42:42Z

If you are given the option, make them 'lindens only'. It is safest and we will quote relevant pieces if needed.

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

kiran.sporg commented at 2014-11-03T23:43:38Z

they are huge files how am I going to cut and paste them in here???? and no that option is not available, can I email them?

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Monty Linden commented at 2014-11-03T23:43:38Z

And if you get an eyeball on the chest again.... take a photo and attach it. I want to add it to my Failure Photobook. :-)

Under 'More Actions' you should be able to attach files.

If not, you can email me at monty@ or use a Dropbox and email me a link.

For those keeping score, Kiran is getting 1000's of KDU errors in SecondLife.log:

2014-11-03T23:54:29Z INFO: LLKDUMessageError::put_text: KDU Error: Kakadu Core Error:

2014-11-03T23:54:29Z INFO: LLKDUMessageError::put_text: KDU Error: Illegal inclusion tag tree encountered while decoding a packet header. This problem can arise if empty packets are used (i.e., packets whose first header bit is 0) and the value coded by the inclusion tag tree in a subsequent packet is not exactly equal to the index of the quality layer in which each code-block makes its first contribution. Such an error may arise from a mis-interpretation of the standard. The problem may also occur as a result of a corrupted code-stream. Try re-opening the image with the resilient mode enabled.

We'll follow up on this with the test in BUG-7694 to see if pipelining is aggravating something.

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

Monty Linden commented at 2014-11-04T15:49:56Z

Haha, I thought you meant in RL (somewhere in the Atlantic). My mistake, I thought you reported this from R3VOLT. I see it was actually Amardon East:

Try that.

sl-service-account commented 10 years ago

kiran.sporg commented at 2014-11-04T15:50:58Z

New Changeset: http://bitbucket.org/monty_linden/viewer-fastpipe/changeset/9aba98ee799a BUG-7698, BUG-7688, BUG-7694 (others) CDN connection issues. Under pipelining, requests were given a 5x timeout factor due to the way that the timeout clock works in libcurl. Under CDN load, connections were not being torn down quickly and it was only this timer that led to disconnect and retry. So, we want to break a connection that isn't making progress but that isn't immediately possible. We'll compromise with a 60S timeout that (we hope) will be neither too long for stalled connections nor too short for large asset transfer requests. Whirly Fizzle commented at 2014-11-09T01:31:51Z

Kiran, which viewer did you get updated to? The first line under Help -> About Secondlife in the viewer will tell you. Can you paste that in here?

sl-service-account commented 9 years ago

kiran.sporg commented at 2014-11-18T12:20:13Z

Hi Whirly! Sorry been working. Right now I am on Second Life 3.7.20 (296094) Oct 29 2014 14:05:13 (Second Life Release) things seem ok as long as I leave off pipelining

sl-service-account commented 9 years ago

Whirly Fizzle commented at 2014-11-20T06:49:06Z

Heya Kiran,

There is a new Http-RC viewer out which will hopefully help with your problem. Download can be found here: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Release_Notes/Second_Life_Release/3.7.21.296736

How are things for you on this viewer when HttpPipelining is set to TRUE? If you clear viewer cache and relog, are textures and mesh loading normally for you? Remember loading will be a bit slower on a clean cache though.

sl-service-account commented 9 years ago

kiran.sporg commented at 2014-11-25T12:33:49Z

I am setting my pipeling back on and will let you know today...then I will try the new release

sl-service-account commented 9 years ago

kiran.sporg commented at 2014-11-25T12:34:31Z

ok wait..i will get the release then turn it on... :)

sl-service-account commented 9 years ago

Whirly Fizzle commented at 2014-11-25T13:10:01Z

Kiran, if you are still seeing problems with invisible mesh &/or corrupted textures or grey textures on the 3.7.21.296736 viewer with HttpPipelining is set to TRUE can you run a session (the longer the better) where you reproduce the problem and then after logging out, before relaunching the viewer, zip up your logs folder and attach it to this issue using More Actions -> Attach Files. This page tells you where to find your logs folder: http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-report-a-bug/ta-p/733545#Section_.3

Thanks!
