[BUG-8017] Avatar's Teeth Not White (See Pictures).

Steps to Reproduce

I didn't do anything.

Actual Behavior

I just discovered that the Avatar's teeth, are no longer showing as white but having a light brown color, and it looks like the teeth texture is also not showing. See my attached pictures.

Inspecting my flickr, the theeth were fine in the first week of November, showing white. About two weeks later, I made another picture, and I didn't noticed it then, the teeth are no lonbger as white teeth. And today I saw it when I wanted to do a facial emote having Avatar's mouth open.

I am on Firestorm viewer, and I did do a relog and tested this with another viewer, Catznip. On both, this same issue is happening.

I asked in a group if anyone else had this, and it is others that have this issue, and some that do not have this issue.

I rebaked, refreshed the textures, thinking it was not rezzing in right, but, all this did not solve it. I think this is somehow server side. As I tried changing skins and still it stays like this, light brown textureless teeth.

I do not wear mesh teeth. This is the teeth that default avatar has.

Expected Behavior

Nothing, just see that my avatar has white teeth.

Other information

I hope this can be looked into and solved soon, because it is annoying as hell to see my avatar with light-brownish teeth now.

Heya Zoey,

The avatar teeth texture is part of the skin so the look of the teeth changes when you wear different skins. The teeth in your attached image do look like rather strange however.

If you go to Avatar -> Avatar health -> Reset default female avatar and also go to World -> Sun -> Midday, do your teeth look normal again?

If that doesnt help, please can you test on the latest Linden Lab viewer and see if the same problem reproduces. You can download the Linden viewer here: https://secondlife.com/support/downloads/

If you still see the same problem on the Linden viewer, can you take a screenshot from the Linden viewer showing your teeth while still wearing the default female avatar and no extra clothing layers or attachments and attach it to this issue. Leave sun set to midday when you take the screenshot and also have the preferences window open (Me -> Preferences) showing the Graphics -> Advanced tab so your graphics settings show in the attached image too.

Hello Whirly,

thank you for your response. I did the first option you suggested, and that made the teeth look white again. But that did put me in the skin when signing up for first time for SL. lol Made me go change from the start, and, while I was doing that I did let my avatar emote with the same facial expression.

I found out what makes the teeth become like that, it's the Belleza Head Tattoo (that is for making the neck part become matching with the mesh body.) The tattoo layer makes the teeth become light brown :/ and when not wearing that tattoo layer, the teeth are normal again.

Looks like this can be closed as it isn't really a bug now lols, but I had no idea last night. Thanks for the first option, I will use that next time before typing out a jira report hehe.
