[BUG-8107] Region environment settings are 'default' in UI but not rendered as such #15745

Open sl-service-account opened 9 years ago

sl-service-account commented 9 years ago

Steps to Reproduce

nothings

we can´t change the settings more

Actual Behavior

The problem is that we have two sims that are connected: "Beware" and "Our Dream" - their day cycle is not synchronized. Actually the day cycle at Beware seems to be frozen. So when moving from one sim to the other there is always a different daytime. Both sims are set to default SL daytime.

Expected Behavior

i was talk to LINDEN and get this answer HI Lippel,

I have had several members of the team take a look at this and honestly we are stumped! Our thinking is that it is a bug of some sort and we recommend opening a jira. These go directly to the developers and they will be able to communicate with you directly through the Jira. You can do that here:

https://jira.secondlife.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Regards,

..... Linden Key Accounts Specialist

I don't have access to those regions to test but I'll take a guess it is the same problem as BUG-5110

I can reproduce this with 'Second Life 3.7.23 (297296) Dec 8 2014 11:35:34 (Second Life Release)' and Second Life Server 14.12.05.297277. The rendered sky settings appear different between the two regions, even though in the UI I see that both regions are set to "Use Second Life Default" in environment settings. Furthermore, neither region has the same environment appearance as a mainland region, which are also set to "Use Second Life Default".

This could be a UI issue - perhaps the viewer incorrectly states that the regions are at "Use Second Life Default" when it knows that custom settings are actually applied for each region?
