Other information

Back to square one:

Last night (2/11/15), some people said that my voice was choppy on Firestorm 4-6-9-42974

But it's still ok on Singularity 1-8-5-5617

So, it's still the same way that it was, with the new RealTek driver. But, what has been learned?

The poor voice quality is not due to the RealTek driver - 2.70 or 2.75 - We know this, because SL Voice is ok on Singularity 185 - The issue has something to do with Vivox.

Is there any way I can turn it off? . . . Check out all of these settings:\r\n\r\nControl Panel / Sound / Playback tab / Speaker (default) / Properties . . . SPDIF-Out (disabled)\r\nLevels: Speaker 100% . . . Line-In/Mic-in: 0 . . . mute everything except for the Speaker, then you won\'t hear yourself\r\n\r\nControl Panel / Sound / Recording tab / Line-In/Mic-In (default) / Properties . . . What U Hear (disabled)\r\n[un-check] Microphone Boost . . . this usually makes voice too distorted\r\nLevels: 65 (65%) . . . in the Viewer, put the slider at 33% . . . Reason:\r\n\r\n... A crucial setting I\'ve learned about for voice is the mic level settings.\r\n... Someone told me to put the Windows Mic level at 90%, and the Viewer Mic level at 50% ... The Windows setting just has to be higher than the Viewer\r\n... The reason for this is that there\'s something called a Sound Gate, and if the levels are reversed, then you get red-lining and distortion.\r\n\r\nIf you\'re at Voice Canyon testing voice, don\'t forget that that\'s the point of being there, and you can\'t turn it off.\r\n\r\n* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *\r\n\r\n[Something I found confusing] See instructions in box for how to make connections to the SB1090 (details not pertinent to this post, but if you want to know, please ask)\r\n\r\nPut USB on Full speed instead of High Speed . . . what is Full vs High?\r\nUnder \'Creative audio control panel,\' be certain that \'high speed\' (2.0) is checked, and not \'full speed\' (1.1). This may or may not solve lag and other commonly cited audio issues.\r\n\r\nQ: Is there a more current version of the firmware? I don\'t see it listed anywhere on the web page.\r\nA: I\'m sorry there is no firmware available for the model you stated. Seldom there will be a firmware available for Creative sound cards.\r\n\r\n* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *', 'Severity': 'Unset', 'System': 'SL Viewer', 'Target Viewer Version': 'viewer-development', 'What just happened?': 'n/a', 'What were you doing when it happened?': 'n/a', 'What were you expecting to happen instead?': 'n/a', } ```
