[BUG-8775] Since the new update I can fly and fall through Sphere prims. This is not throughout the entire sphere prims but only in certain areas of the prim. This is not just one sphere but 2 different prims. They are not phantom. #16358

Steps to Reproduce

I did not receive an error message. I was walking and fell through the prim. I have two separate prims where this is occurring.

Actual Behavior

I have a spaceship sphere prim where this is occurring. This is located in Livigno on my land.

Expected Behavior

I was expecting not to fall and I didn't expect to fly through the prim.

Other information

I was expecting to walk without falling.

Heya Kat,

I can reproduce this but so far only in the places where your sphere prims extend into the neighbouring region of Ayas.

Ref: Maestro's comment on SVC-8162.

For this particular object, is it centered in a different region than your avatar is standing in?

If so, this is expected behavior, for now - objects are only physically simulated in 1 region at a time, so your avatar won't collide with an object that's located in a different region. In order to not have your avatar fall through the object on the other side of the border, you typically need to build a 2nd prim across the region border to support the avatar.

There are future plans to have neighboring regions share their static physics shape with each other, which would cause correctly-configured objects which span multiple regions to collide in every region they touch.
