Hi BWolf, what viewer and version are you on? The base avatar can wear up to 60 alpha wearables at a time, and the system doesn't care if it is a male of female shape. More at http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Limits#Avatar
If you are having trouble with the alpha cutouts for some mesh body, you will need to contact the maker of that body. This JIRA site is for bugs and feature requests for Second Life itself, not resident-created items.
